Everyone has untapped potential. Improving performance is about tapping into that potential and releasing it. But, for each and every individual, there is a different route to achieving this. In our experience, coaching - the transformational variety - is the most effective vehicle for helping individuals achieve and for developing high performance cultures in organisations.
Momenta is able to help in two ways: we will provide the highest quality of coaching support to your key people, and we will develop your managers’ coaching capabilities.
We help you identify the most appropriate approach and style of coaching to suit any particular need (e.g. performance coaching, executive coaching, transition coaching for a new role, interpersonal skills coaching) as well as the choice of coach.
Our coaches work to the European Mentoring & Coaching Council Code of Ethics and, thanks to our wide range of experience, we are able to provide a coach to suit all individuals and situations. We work on the basis of a clear, three-way contract between the individual being coached, their sponsor, and the Momenta coach.
Our clients for executive coaching include directors of global organisations in financial services and other sectors, including the automotive industry and the public sector.
Manager as Coach
Most financial services’ organisations have trained their line managers, particularly sales managers, in the process of coaching, usually in response to the regulatory need to maintain the competence of sellers and advisers. However, much of what passes as coaching by line managers is mechanical, predictable, and lacking in inspiration, with too much focus on the process and not enough on the people involved – the dynamics of the two-way interaction between coach and learner.
How we can help
Momenta’s programmes for developing managers as coaches involve two stages:
- Raising awareness. High performance is extremely difficult to achieve and sustain without high awareness of self and others, and having the skill to manage the impact of behaviours. Arguably, mastery of this gives more power and potency to coaching than any other factor. We use a profiling tool to assist this.
- Developing the dynamics of performance improvement across three dimensions. Most coaching in the commercial world focuses on just one of three performance dimensions – what people do. We help managers apply Performance Dynamics Modelling© to develop three key dimensions that lead to consistent, sustainable high performance in their teams.
If you want your managers to be high performance coaches, a training course can only serve as an introduction. Our programmes use transformational coaching as the main method to develop managers as coaches.
